We were given Clean Aural by our vets and it seems to do the job well.....can get it on-line I believe.
We use it once or twice a week.

Thornits ear powder.  Marvellous stuff.  Lots of COLers use it on their cockers.
I believe there is a special sticky (think thats what they are called) somewhere on this site.
Am sure somebody with more knowledge will be along soon.

I use Thornits on Lola - no ear probs at all - she has lovely pink, clean ears.

I tend to use TrizEDTA which I find is very good.

It comes as crystals in a plastic container with a spout which you have to add distilled water.

Thornit ear powder here too. None of my spaniels (even my American cocker with very long and heavy ears) have ever had ear problems mainly due to using Thornit as a preventative.

Another Thornits' fan here. I use ear wipes from P&H  don't but any cleaner down the ear. Keep the ear hair trimmed down just wipe round and use the Thornits.

I wouldn't have said that Thornits was an ear cleanser. I thought it was to treat any mites and/or irritation and prevent problems. The instructions I got from Thornit when I emailed for more specific instructions was to use it for 5 days when there were ear problems, then stop and use an ear cleanser after a few days. As a preventative it should be used weekly. I was given Epi-Otic by Alfie's vet for cleaning his ears.

I found with Jessie if I put a liquid cleaner down her ear she was worse with ear infections. Spoke to my vet and he said keep the ear dry and only to use cleaner if there was a heavy build up of wax.  He said the best thing was too keep the ear clear of excess hair and I keep hers well trimmed.

If Rubys ears are grubby i give them a clean with a baby wipe and keep the hair short, but i must admit sometimes they can be "slightly"whiffy when i have a sniff  :shades:

I have used Thornits in the past but it seemed to irritate her,i can't remember,do you put it down the ear hole or sprinkle just around the outer part

I haven't used any ear cleaning solutions  ph34r but Ruby has never had an ear infection.
When she did have a dart removed earlier in the year though the vet said she had a waxy ear,but that did stop the dart going down any further and doing real damage.

Maybe i should use something,it will be interesting to see what other people do.
People laugh at me because I'm different, but I laugh at them because they are all the same.

....maybe I should add Cleanaural was recommended to us not because Dillon had any probs with his ears but to use as part of his grooming routine.  It smells lovely and although it is a liquid I apply it to a cotton pad and just wipe the inside of his ears with it and it dries instantly.
So far he has had no problems with his ears and they are lovely and clean - no wax at all - haven't venture near his ears with scissors yet but can see the value in keeping the hair trimmed in that area.
