My husband and I moved to a totally new place (military) and the first time we had to leave our dog at a kennel, I freaked out. But turns out the guy was just superb.... his 3 year old son *loved* Odie and played with him everyday! I was sure that had we stayed away longer, they would've ended up adopting him! He was a big hit at the kennel, and enjoyed himself so much that we will definitely take him back there for our next vacation this summer.

I like to hear positive stories about kennels and that dogs do actually enjoy their time there.  Still wouldn't put mine in one though     I saw a program the other week about a place in the states that had themed bedrooms for the dogs(complete with TV), a spa, they could get a massage and a pedicure. Now I would send mine there 8)

It is good to hear that you had a good experience with kennels.  Cockers are always a big hit wherever they go, aren't they?  Sounds like Odie was treated really well :D

We have one kennel here, it's run really well and the ladies who run it are really good with the dogs but the night time accommodation is in outbuildings so I don't think I could bring myself to put Morgan or Cooper there.  There is also a man here, who will take 3-4 dogs at a time and has them in his house.  My dad's girlfriend put her dog, Holly, there and she really enjoyed it -  mind when she went to pick Holly up, the man broke it to her as gently as he could that her dog was deaf     Turned out he'd been calling her Suzie for the whole week - no wonder she didn't listen to him
