This is a little boy at Teckels, he's approximately 14 weeks old and believe it or not was handed in with his brother by his breeder, who had problems selling the remaining three puppies of his litter...and had marital problems, holidays etc which took priority  :(

Arn't they called parti coloured when they have 2 colours on them. He's beautiful.

I thought he was probably a mismarked red. But his coat isn't very "red", more brown. He is definitely purebred cocker btw, he is KC registered.

Tricky one! My initial instinct was it might be a working cocker, and I wouldnt have said a mismarked solid as to me that normally means a white patch on the chest rather than the mask on the head, but then it might be a bit unusual for a parti-colour to have so much of one colour?? Of course we all know Jane will probably be able to classify it correctly on sight :D but my vote would be a red and white cocker. Probably way off mark (get it?!)

Mmmm.
The thing is, the black boy didn't look like a working cocker. They are large and have a fair bit of feathering and very long ears  :?
But I did wonder given his strange colouring.

I wonder what colour is stated on the KC papers :? .

I haven't see the kc papers, I'm not sure if the rescue have them or not, possibly they do. They said he was red. I don't know if that was their take on it, or it that was what was on his papers.

Poor little chappie in rescue at 14 weeks

He looks like a puppy from a solid x parti mating. There may a big mixture of colours in the pedigree for this colouring to come through.

You are right Mike, you would usually see a white chest from this type of mating. I have seen cockers from solid x parti matings with silver muzzles and a white blaze on the head so I'm sure this colouring is possible if there is a lot of parti to solid breeding in the pedigree.
I'm no expert here regarding colouring but he looks all cocker to me.

I hope the little men find new homes soon.
