I have spent the last hour trying :012:
I don't understand - have tried in Picture Manager and Gimp and the pic on my computer looks small, but once in Photobucket and on here it's back to huge >:D
It's this one - I want to put it in my signature over Christmas

I use this for resizing:

They seem to go in any size, but I really want it small, but big enough to be able to read the writing.
-
I've no idea what size they need to be for signatures. Does it say anything in the forum instructions?
EDIT: Can't you resize it to the same size as your avatar?
-
Have you resized it in Photobucket? If you hover your cursor over the thumbnail and select 'Edit' and then 'Resize' and pick the Small 160x120 option then Apply and then either save a copy or replace the original depending on if you want to keep the bigger one too that should do it.

No, the with avatar you upload direct from the computer and it resizes automatically. For the signature you have to size it yourself them put a link in to Photobucket. It needs to be a little bit bigger than the avatar to be able to see the writing. I can't seem to be able to resize the photos full stop; don't know what I'm doing wrong :'(

Sorry Nicola, that didn't work (see above)
-
I think it's because it's square rather than rectangular so to get it under the required number of pixels (150x150) it's hard to read the writing. This is it at that size anyway so if you want to use it just copy the link.

Thanks :D
I have it at 160 x 160 on Photobucket but it still just comes out huge on COL :dunno:
I managed all the complicated bits (cutting out Jeff and Annie, making them bigger, moving them around, cloning the snow etc) albeit not very well, but resizing, which should be simple, has totally thrown me >:(

nnnoooooo
I couldn't make your solution work, Nicola, and started all over with Photobucket and it's STILL coming out HUGE on here :012:

Did you copy it onto your signature with the IMG tags? When I saw it it was just the http link appearing rather than the actual picture.
ETA - I just tested it by copying the link from my post above into my own profile and it worked.

Yes, I went back when I saw it was the link only and put in image tags, but the profile thing said I wasn't allowed two pictures in my signature even though there was only the one >:D

Now WHY did that suddenly work? >:D It's the same as I had been doing all along, but now it's working SCREAMSTHROWSCOMPUTERACROSSROOM
Thanks so much for your help Nicola (and for trying Neon).

Sorry, wish I could help you but Im technophobic :rofl1: :rofl1: you have been on for an hour and a half bet you are getting really mad
Last ones look ok :luv:
-
:lol2: No worries!

Sorry I couldn't help any more. It looks great. If it was any smaller you wouldn't be able to read the writing.
