Title: Devastated..My girl has gone

It was with a very heavy heart that I kissed my girl Erin goodnight for the very last time this morning. As posted previously she has had a tough few months since developing chronic pancreatitis in October then high blood pressure along with a few other problems. Over the past few weeks she was drinking to excess, lethargic and in obvious pain at times. These last few days her pain appeared to increase drastically to the point that she even snapped at my daughter and was growling when touched. She required help to get upstairs and was  even cariried home from a walk.
We had to make the heartbreaking decision to end her suffering.
She was a loyal, loving and at times crazy girl who we all loved so much.

So very sorry. It is the decision that every dog companion dreads having  to make but is the ultimate proof of your love for her and the gratitude for all she gave you. Run and play at the bridge dear Erin, you're free now.

So sorry you have had to make that awful decision, but well done for putting her first and setting her free from pain and distress  :'(

Thank you all for your kind words...I know you all understand.
We have cried what feels like a river today...oh what I would give to have her snuggled up beside me tonight.
Our other girl Tilly is at a loss...she lying at front door and if anyone comes in she becomes all excited and looks for Erin. She is in and out back garden and barks and runs back in...this was her way of summoning Erin outside on a daily basis....she then looks about all confused...poor girl does not know what is going on just now.

So sad to read this. I lost my guy in February so I know how devastated you must feel. I try to think about how loved he was and how happy his life was with us. I'm sure Erin was the same. My thoughts are with you.
