Ben
« on: April 26, 2017, 08:46:26 PM »
Our world has been turned upside down as we have had to say goodbye to Ben yesterday  :'(  :'(
To say we are devastated is an understatement, I just feel so lost without him and I'm really struggling. We knew it was coming, but I don't think I was prepared for quite just how much it hurts.

Trying to keep a grip on things and keep to routines so that Harry doesn't struggle, he keeps looking for Ben and he is just so quiet and subdued all the time.

My head knows it was the right time for Ben to go to sleep, he was tired after a wonderful 14 years of such an active life, but my heart is breaking and I just want him back with me.

So sorry for you. Don't know how to console you other than you gave him a good life...
My thoughts are with you.
Muddling along in the hope that one day it all makes sense.

I am SO sorry for your loss.  :'( :'(
Although I have never met him or you, I do feel as though I knew him as you shared with us his life for so many years.
I know through your words how much you loved him and I feel certain that Ben knew this.
Ben was blessed with having such caring owners and he is at peace now.
The next few days and weeks to come will be difficult as you come to terms with your loss but try to focus on the good times you had with him.
Choose some favourite photos of him to display and smile (and maybe shed a tear) as you look at them and  remember his good life with you.
Please look after yourself, your husband and Harry. My thoughts are with you all.   :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug:
Max (GSP)  always in my heart

So so sorry to hear this. You're known to us here as Ben's Mum, you'll always be Ben's Mum even though you are now apart. There are no words of consolation, those of us who have gone through it know how you're feeling right now. Hold on to the memories of all the wonderful, happy times you had together and draw strength from them. Thinking of you and sending hugs.
Run free and be happy at the bridge lovely Ben!

My heart goes out to you. I know from your recent posts how difficult this decision has been. I also know you did your utmost to make sure it was made at the right time for Ben. It's the last great act of love we do for our pets, and you did him proud.
