Separation Anxiety
« on: July 25, 2020, 09:19:43 AM »
Morning everyone. Our 15 week old Shadow cries when I (specifically) leave the room..if he can follow me he is fine but if I go upstairs (baby gated) he will whine and yap. I keep going upstairs and out of the house for very short periods of time but it doesn't seem to be working. If my partner is in he will go and find him. Generally if I move from the room we are in to another he will follow. When we go out he goes in his crate happily with a Kong filled with treats and according to my neighbour is quiet. It just seems to be when I am actually in the house!! Help please.

He's still a baby and will lack confidence so needs pretty much constant companionship.  All perfectly normal.  As he gets older he'll become more confident and independent but these things can't be rushed.  You're doing the right things, just a lot more patience required.

Lots of other COL advice on this - try a forum search for more...

Thank you! You forget what it's like! My Retriever was a totally different puppy as was my last Cocker. He is gorgeous and doing really well.
