......and I feel sick ph34r The breeder only let me have her as I wanted to show and breed from her but she has only grown to 13" - whoops  I have uhhmed and ahhed about letting her have a season first but the sitter I had lined up for her to go to when she came in is now doubtful and I won't put her into kennels so that kind of made my decision for me. So please send lots of lovely thoughts for my little princess - I'm getting tearful just thinking about it ph34r

I've only just seen this Gill sorry.
Glad she's ok. She'll be sore bless her for a bit, but at least with extra meds you're prepared!
I remember Sapphi being done. After the first few hours I had to leave OH to care for her as I cried every time I looked at her. :embarassed:
The next day she was sore but she much happier. I hope Jersey is too.
Gentle snuggles little Jersey. :luv:
-
iHi Gill Maisy was spayed on Monday, she has 3 stitches and not needing to wear a collar, today she has been bouncing around, ran up the stairs ph34r and acting like nothing had happened, i have gaven her the pain killers Rimadyl, given by vet, am and pm, when i led her out of the vets and opened the car door she jumped in! i was ready to lift her in, she appears like nothing has happened, but i am trying to keep her calm and only allowing her in the garden, but she is fine.
-
Just seen this Gill,
Hope you both manage to have a comfortable night, good luck keeping her quiet.
-
Thanks everyone ;) If she wasn't so small and delicate I wouldn't have worried like I did..............yeah right, who am I trying to kid :005:
She was fine overnight but did let out a couple of squeals when she was moving about. She is a lot brighter this morning, walking fine and ate her brekkie, She is still uncomfortable though and still squeals occasionally so she will get her metacam tablet at lunchtime and hopefully that will take the edge off it. She isn't going to be impressed with lead only walks for the next 10 days though ph34r
-
Fern was like this as well, she'd circle and lie flat on the ground really quickly and we knew it was because she was in pain. We thought she should have had more painkillers that we were given but fortunately she got better and we didn't need to. She was more disturbed by the lampshade and we only kept this on for 24 hours or so, because we thought its bad enough her being in pain without thinking she had to wear that for the rest of her life - she didn't know it was temporary did she!
Gentle cocker squidges to you both from us :luv:
-
Bless her :luv: so pleased she's up and about Gill, i bet your spoiling her rotten ;)
When we had Nell done, she came charging out of the vets, and jumped up onto the car seat before we could stop her :005:
-
Aww lickle Jersey :luv: gentle squidges from us too xx
-
awww hope you've stopped giving your mum 'those eyes' and forgiven her :luv: :luv: :luv:
10 days is not very long... (who am i trying to kid? :005:)
-
Glad to hear she came through the op ok and is feeling a little better this morning :luv:
-
Glad the wee lamb is OK.Poppy was done a couple of months ago and managed to get a slight infection in her wound. The vet said it looked like she'd been rubbing it. I didn't have the guts to tell him that the rubbing was happening because Poppy was still humping poor old Bramble ph34r Her stitches were rubbing against Brammie's back!
-
Just got back and seen this. Glad Jersey is getting better :luv: I have this to come with Kali in the next few weeks. When I pluck up courage to ring the vet :'(
-
Glad she's getting better.
I remember when Meg was done I was up all night with her the first night because all she did was cry :'(
The restriction for 10 days is hard, but they do appreciate when they're let off again ;)
-

-
Glad her op went ok, hope she feels better soon :luv:
-

Sorry for being thick but what's a seroma? ph34r
-
Sorry for being thick but what's a seroma? ph34r
I'ts a fluid filled swelling that can happen after an operation ;)
Took her to the vets today and they think its either an infection about to start (in which case, me being totally neurotic has paid of ) or a reaction to the stitches. I'm sure I have read of others on here who had a problem with the stitches and it became a bit of an on-going problem so I really hope its not that. She has more anti-inflammatories and antibiotics to see her over the weekend and she has to go back beginning of next week. She just looks so miserable and keeps hiding away :'(
-
Poor Jersey, hope you're feeling more comfortable very soon. :-*
-
awww bless her :'( ..sending lots of healing thoughts for lovely Jersey x

-
Only just seen this Gill - poor Jersey, hope she feels better today :D
I'm dreading having Misty done. Like Jersey, Misty is quite small for her age and the vet says she probably won't grow much bigger so she'll always look like a puppy next to Scooby (who's quite tall) :005:
Give Jersey an extra big hug and kiss from us :luv:
-
Gill, i'm sorry I missed this too, poor Jersey, hope shes feeling better soon :-*
-
How's Jersey doing today Gill?
-
She seems fine enough in herself and taking her medicine like a good little girl but the swelling is now tennis ball sized :o She is back at the vets tomorrow tea time so we will have to wait and see what they say.
-
Oh Gosh poot Jersey. I hope it all calms down soon and you can stop worrying about her. Gentle squidges to Jersey from me and licks from Glen and Sally. :-*
-
Oh heck! Poor Jersey. :-\
I hope she gets sorted out soon. Bless her, are you having difficulty keeping her off the wound? I did with Morgan as he freaked when I put the buster collar on. His got infected. It took almost four weeks to heal properly.
Hope Jerseys gets sorted much quicker......she'll be missing her runs with the boys
Big kisses Jersey :-*
-
oh no! i thought she was all ok and hadn't checked the thread for a while
hope the swelling starts going down and she's back to normal soon.
gentle squidges to her :luv: :luv: :luv: :luv: :luv:

Ditto from me, I hadn't seen this. Poor wee Jersey :luv:
-
Bless her, are you having difficulty keeping her off the wound?
Not at all - thats the frustrating thing. I bought vests for her but she hasn't troubled her wound once and the vet was quite happy with the wound itself on Friday although it is looking a bit red now. Her pain killers are finished now but she still has a few days to go with her antibiotics. The poor girl will be getting fed up ogf me checking her tummy umpteen times a day - I just have visions of it exploding and everything popping out ph34r :005: :005:
-
Poor Jersey :'( Hope she starts feeling better soon so you can stop fretting
-
Jessie had a swelling that sounds like Jerseys when she was spayed. Our vet took her stitches out a few days early in the end and the swelling reduced pretty quickly, he thought that it was because she didn't really slow down :005: within 24 hours of the op Jessie was leaping onto the sofa's and running circles round the garden......we ended up keeping her on a lead for 4 days just to try and keep her quiet!! ph34r
I am sure Jersey will be OK....Jessie recovered very well once the stiches were removed!
Our new vet thinks that Jessie might have had an allergy to the material used to do the internal stiches...? who knows eh?
Janey
-
..hope Jersey is ok and that the swelling is reducing x
-
Sorry to hear Jersey is still not 100%.
Thinking of you both... :luv:
-
Just back from the vets . If the swelling starts to go down then her stitches can come out on Monday (they are due to come out Friday but he wants to err on the side of caution) but if its still the same, then they are going to have to open her up again to investigate :'( Time to cross all those fingers and toes guys ;)
-
Fingers toes & paws crossed for her Gill :-*
-
Same here. Crossed doub;e for you both. :luv:
-
everythings crossed Gill ;)
-
in the name o the wee man, Gill.....what a nightmare! Sending you both lots of love. xx
-
God Gill, poor Jersey :'( Do you think she could be having a reaction to the stitches?
-
God Gill, poor Jersey :'( Do you think she could be having a reaction to the stitches?
It is a possibility but if its the internal ones, then they will have to open her up and replace them with something else :-\ Never mind her, I don't think I could cope with her having another G/A ph34r :005: :005:
-
I almost hate to bring this up, but they haven't left anything in her like sponges or instruments? :o
It's not unheard of, at least in human surgery >:(
-
Fingers, toes, eyes, paws, and ears (in monty's case :005: mine don't reach to cross!!! ) crossed...hope she gets back to her normal self again soon :luv:
-
