Just wondering which wormer to get - have used Drontal in the past which has been ok but is there anything better - neither have worms at the moment to the best of my knowledge :-\
-
We use Advocate on Belle 6mths as it is a wormer and a flea treatment(ear mites, mange etc etc) and it helps against lungworm. Not sure whats best though its what our vet recommends but we all know that vets differ in their opinions and they promote certain items ph34r

Milbemax for us :D - Drontal upsets their tummies ::)
-
We use Milbemax too.
-
Drontal here for both dogs and cats - no problems with it. I always make sure that I don't worm them on an empty stomach.
-
Milbemax....both Drontal and Panacur make the girls heave!!
-
Milbemax here too as Drontal makes both Rodaidh and Tilly sick. If it works ok for your dog though then there probably isn't any reason to chop and change. Advocate covers lungworm, roundworm, fleas, mites etc. but it doesn't cover tapeworm which is one of the most common canine intestinal worms so you'd still have to give an extra wormer for that.

Thanks Nic, vets ph34r So what do you suggest I give her for the tapeworm

It's up to you really but probably the most commonly used ones are Milbemax and Drontal, or maybe Panacur.

Do I have to get it off the vet?

Yes or you can order them online but I think you need a prescription from the vet to do so. I'm not 100% certain on that though as I've never done it, I just buy it from the vet.

Cheers Nic, sorry to OP for hijacking ph34r ;)
-
Don't need a prescription for Drontal and can get it much cheaper online than from the vets. I think Milbemax needs a vets prescription in order to buy online

Have always used Milbemax with no probs - have heard that Drontal can upset their tums >:(
-
I`ve used Panacur Tasty Favourites and they were brilliant but they seem to have discontinued them which is such a shame as my doglets took them lovely ! Can anyone suggest something similiar
-
I've always used Milbemax for Ben any thing else makes him shake and throw up :020:
however my vet is stopping selling it, and she said a lot of vets are switching to some sort of all in one tablet - that does fleas and worms - think I've got that right.
shes let me stock up with enough Milbemax for the next 12 months as she wonders if it will still be available :-\
-
Milbemax here too with no problems (always get it from vet) :D
-
Milbemax here as well.Drontal gaves them chronic diarrhea
-
You do need a prescription for Milbemax if you want it from online. My vets don't stock Milbemax but they do get it for me in boxes of four tablets.
-
Milbemax here too. Was on Drontal but it didn't agree with her. (Get mine from vet)
