Title: Neem cream help
Post by: Mel on March 12, 2011, 06:08:29 PM
Tali is now off of Pilocarpine for his dry eye as it was making him sick. Managing the dry eye with lubricants is fine, if more likely his sight could fail but he only ever had a maximum of three hours a day of natural tears anyway. However, his nose will dry up again which will get sore and unsightly. Vaselene is rubbish, but I've heard Neem cream is very good for dry, cracked noses.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a good Neem cream please? Or anything else they can suggest?
Thank you

While neem is pretty safe, I don't think I'd want to use it on a nose, too easy to lick off. I'd recommend Vitamin E oil (what I use on mine) or even just plain vaseline  ;)

I know you can get neem products from CSJ - linkie (http://www.csjk9.com/productcart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=16).  They do a pot of natural neem oil.

Also, I've always found them very helpful with advice by email.

I don't think I'd put neem cream on the nose either - it's v strong smelling (and dogs a have far stronger sense of smell than we do).

We use to put vaseline with aloe vera on Morgan's nose - we put it on whilst massaging his face, so he'd not realise we were doing it  :D
