Title: Phoebe's got a lump

Phoebe's pups are 6 weeks old (all reserved mods). I have been grooming her today and she has a hard lump behind one of her teats. She is still feeding although the pups are on 4 meals of solids per day. The lump is the size of a small orange. I am taking her to the vets tomorrow but has anyone any idea what it could be?

I am sorry I have no advice, but just wanted to say that I hope the vets find nothing serious.

Not an expert by any means but maybe it's an abscess caused by a blocked milk duct? The vet might just give you some antibiotics for her - fingers crossed for her  :luv:

Been to the vet, poor Phoebe has mastitis. She has had so much milk and now the pups are weaned it has caused this problem. She has ABs Anti inflams and pain killers. Now away from the pups but not happy about it.

Poor Phoebe, hope she feels better very soon.  So very relieved for you both that it was nothing more serious.

Poor wee girl. All her boobs are now like rocks. But he meds should kick in soon

Phoebe is much better this morning, boobs not as hard as last night. She certainly kicked up a fuss overnight as she wanted her babies :'(

That sounds like an improvement Lynne.
The meds must work quite quickly.
(It's hard work being a mum)
