Please can Toby have some special COL wishes

Tobes is at the vet awaiting an operation this afternoon.  He started shaking his head and scratching his left ear last night.  He'd been running around in long grass yesterday.  Normally he wears a snood but yesterday I'd forgotten it, what an idiot.

The vet can see something right at the bottom of his left ear.  He doesn't know yet whether there is any damage to his ear drum.   

He also said grass seeds can cause damage almost immediately.

Please can you pray that my boy has no damage or loss of hearing.  I want to kick myself for letting him run in the grass with no snood on when I know the danger of grass seeds.

Sending lots of positive thoughts for Toby.  Hopefully, you will get good news soon.  Please don't blame yourself.   I don't even have a snood for Pippa but am now thinking I should definitely get one.  Is it just a spaniel thing with the floppy ears or should Barney (fauve) have one too?  He has fairly long ears as well but whether he would put up with wearing one is debatable.

Hope it all goes well with Toby this afternoon 

They always seem to do it on a weekend!  Jarvis started shaking his head on a Friday night last year and we got him in straight away to the out of hours vets (not my favourite service  ) - your vet is right - they can travel really quickly.  J's had already started piercing his ear drum  (4 hours after his walk!)

They are evil things 

All the dogs I know of that have had seeds, even if the eardrum was damaged,  have been absolutely fine after the seed has been removed  - fingers crossed Toby is as well

Poor Toby Fingers crossed that they get it out easily and that there's no damage. He will be fine I'm sure, but it is such a worry whenever they have to have anything done.
