Update on Lulu is, not much showed up on X ray this morning so she has been referred to a veterinary hospital for an MRI scan. So I took her there this afternoon where she will stay overnight and have a scan tomorrow.:'( We could have brought her home tonight and take her to the hospital tomorrow but at least she should get some strong pain killers whilst she is there. I couldn't bear to hear her cry in pain again tomorrow like she did this morning.
But again when we got to the hospital this afternoon the vet did all the pulling and prodding that he could possibly do as well as tapping for reflex and he said everything seems ok. All I know is that the house is a very quite place without Lulu Xxx

Oh dear, poor Lulu and poor you!

Really hope the MRI can give you some more information. It is so awful to hear them in pain and not be able to help. I think you made the best decision to leave her at the hospital because at least she is in the right place to keep her as comfortable as possible.

Take care, I can imagine how worried you must be.

I hope the scan reveals the problem and that it can be resolved by rest and careful management :bigarmhug:

William had a MRI scan 5 years ago after 3 episodes of relatively mild back pain over a period of months made me concerned that it might be something major. His turned out to be lumbosacral disc damage but luckily he didn't need surgery and has continued to lead a normal life, although we'd already stopped doing agility as a precautionary measure and I never throw balls for him and restrict his access to stairs, jumping in and out of vehicles etc. But he's still active, fit and lively at 10 years old despite having protruding discs.

Update on Lulu is, I picked her up this evening from the Vet Hospital and the MRI scans show nothing apart from a bruised or inflamed (white patch) on a muscle in the area of back and calf. So we have just got to carry on with the Metacam and see if it improves. Although he did say it has been known for a grass seed to get that far in!!  Thanks for all the support from the forum and all my well wishes Lulu Xxx

I am so relieved for you and Lulu that it isn't anything serious. After my friend's tragic experience I would hate anyone else to go through the same thing.

Hope Lulu feels 100% soon.

So pleased for you. A spinal op is not without risks (although Lyla dashes around like a loon now) and anything that avoids that is good!

Pleased to hear that the MRI scan didn't reveal anything nasty :D

Hopefully the rest and the anti-inflammatories will do the trick and get her back to normal.
