It's a nasty nasty disease, that does recur sadly - Saffy had it twice and it's extremely painful - all they can do is to put them on a drip really, to "rest" the insides..... I really hope Minnie gets through it.  Diet usually has to be very very low fat.

Hi Pam,  I have just come in on this thread too, so sorry to read about Minnie. You know I have first hand experience too so please email me if I can give you any more advice.  They can get through it and Simon is living proof of that at 14 and having had three bad attacks he is an amazing boy!  :D

Take care and I will keep everything crossed for Minnie.

Sorry to hear about Minnie and hope she is on the road to recovery. Bonnie my last dog had it once and she needed hospitalisation and a drip, when she came out she was given bland recovery food by the vet, but after reading my herbal book I decided to fast her instead, as this was advised to help her. It may seem a bit extreme, but I fasted her for 4 days as advised only giving honeyed water if she appeared hungry, she made a full recovery although afterwards I was more careful with fatty foods. She only got it once.

Just got an update and it's great news. She's picking up nicely now. Her colour is much better and she's altogether much brighter. She's going to stay on the drip for a another couple of days just to rest her internal organs a bit more than gradually reintroduce food. :D :D :D

But at least she's now firmly the right side of that line.

Many thanks to all for the support. It is very much appreciated.  :luv: :luv:

I am soooo sorry that I have missed this thread.

Of course, I would have wanted to wish Minnie all the very best, and do now. Just sorry I haven't been thinking of her all they way through.

She is such a pretty little doll. :luv:
