Might have joined the grass seed club
« on: August 11, 2006, 11:50:14 AM »
Vegas had to go to the vets earlier this week for infected anal glands. Afterwards I took him and Aspen to a playing field before work and since then he has been licking and gnawing at his back paw. I've been bathing it but today a huge red lump has appeared just above his pad and now I'm very worried that it may be a foreign body  His appointment is 3pm so please keep fingers crossed that its not a grass seed :-\

Oh poor Vegas - really hope it's not a grass seed but even if it is, I'm sure he'll come through it fine.

Cocker hugs coming from Clive  :-*

Poor Vegas   :luv: - I hope it gets sorted out this afternoon. These grass seeds are a total nightmare - you just can't seem to escape them  >:D

Will be thinking of you this afternoon.

Big hugs from Milly and me  :-*

Very pleased to announce that my membership has been declined :005: :005: The vet doesn't think there is anything in the foot but once he clipped the hair away between his pads, it was all red, swollen and very sore looking :'(  So he got a few injections, more tablets and he has to have his paw washed a few times a day with as much rest as possible as the more walking he does on it, the more it is chafing . It looks like a wet exczema - not pleasant at all.

On a positive note, when he went to clip his paw, the vet went out to get a 3rd pair of hands as he said Vegas wouldn't like it all and would probably put up a fight. Well, my boy stood there good as gold and the vet commented what a fabulous dog he is and he wished all his patients were like him :luv:

Pleased to hear your membership has been declined  :005:

Good boy Vegas for being so brave and behaving so well :clapping:

Next time I go back to the park I'm going to take a pair of scissors with me and cut all the dry grass away from around the log bench

Graet news Gill.

What a great patient he was too. It would have taken more than one extra pair of hands for us!

I was wondering that cockers and rest not two words you would ever put together :005: Good luck with "resting" Vegas so glad it wasn't a grass seed.
