Vegas very poorly
« on: January 26, 2008, 01:24:24 PM »
Woke up this morning to find Vegas lying on the floor, shaking uncontrollably and surrounded by piles of vomit which just resembled brown sludge.  Called him to me and he was having real difficulty walking - not to the point of falling over but having to think about where to place his feet and being very unsteady.  Took him into work and the vet is hoping that its just cos he is feeling so sick and has given him a few injections with tablets and rehydration fluid to give him over the weekend.  He is to have absolutely no food and only tiny sips of water for today. He's lying on a blanket just now shaking away - every time I look at him, I think he's going to launch into a fit  :-\

Please keep fingers crossed that the injections help and that we can be spared a visit to the emergency vet!!

Hope Vegas makes a speedy recovery, and that the vet you saw is right!

oh Gill!  So sorry to read this.  Sounds horrendous  :-\

I hope Vegas responds to his treatment and recovers very quickly (and of course doesn't have a fit).  Poor little lad  :'(

Everything crossed that you don't visit the emergency vet this weekend  :-*

Oh Gill, so sorry.. will keep everything crossed for a quick recovery..

I don't know if this is related at all but mine were both under the weather and sick with brown sludgy stuff last week but not as bad as Vegas sounds.. I found out they'd been eating bluebell shoots and bulbs  >:D

It might be worth checking your garden.. they've both recovered fine and given up this little delicacy but it was quite grim  :P

Get better soon Vegas  :-*

Harlem has just staggered into the bedroom, salivating. Looks like they have eaten something - I think I'd better phone the vet  :-\
