White spots on chest
« on: April 29, 2010, 10:35:47 PM »
I've just found that Dylan has got 3 tiny spots on his chest. They look like human acne spots with white heads..

I've checked for ticks and fleas but nothing there - and he only had his flea/tick spot on treatment (from the vets) on 24th March - so should still be preventing them shouldnt it?

Any ideas to the what the spots are? Should I be worrying as Dylan's not worried about them at all - and is his usual self..

Could be ingrown hairs. I've found "pimples" on occasion on my dogs, nothing to worry about

Does he wear a harness? (meaning; could a harness be rubbing?)

Just thought I'd update you all - the white spots turned out the be ticks! They must have literally just attached. When I checked them again on Saturday they had gone dark in colour, and grown. They wern't major sized thankfully. Probably the biggest was the size of a petit pois pea. Good job pets at home's vets were open Sunday, as our normal vets werent open until Tuesday..

Chedi,

If you haven't already, I suggest you invest in an O'Tom: http://www.otom.com/

You can buy them online or your vets might even sell them (our vets does).
