Thank you everyone for being so caring.

The vet has just rung.  The tests are showing that it is almost certainly a benign lipoma, there were no malignant cells found.  However, the vet wants to remove it as it is so small it will cause very little tissue damage and it may very well grow larger.  Also Ellie is only 6 and healthy and he would rather remove it now than in a couple of years when it may well be larger and Ellie will be older.  Also the lump will be sent away to be properly diagnosed so we will be 100% sure.  So my little baby is going back into hospital on Tuesday for an operation.

I wish she didn't have to go back in but I know it is for the best, and I feel a bit better that even though she has to have an operation, at least it is on a harmless lump rather than a serious one, if that makes any sense.

You have all been so lovely in thinking about Ellie, but if you could just spare a few more thoughts for her on Tuesday we would be grateful.  I will let you know how she is as soon as she is home.

Thank you again.

Gaynor & Ellie.

That is good news that it is benign. :D

It is best to come off whilst still small, as op is easier then, but it's never nice when they have to go in to get an anaesthetic. :'(

Will be thinking of you both on Tuesday. :luv:

Oh that is great news, so pleased for you and Ellie.  Don't envy you on Tuesday, but I can understand why it should get removed now and not later.  Lots of caring thoughts for you both.  :bigarmhug:

Excellent news.  I guess you will be worried again on Tuesday - I would be the same - but hopefully this will be a distant memory for you both really soon.

Fingers and paws crossed here x.

Daisy had a small lump removed last year and I must say she was back to her usual self after a couple of hours....once the sad eyes and 'you left me' had worn off of course!  :016:

Great news that its benign.  :luv:

Good idea to get it removed whilst its still small. Holly had one that the vets initially left, to be fair they always gave me the option, which I put off as I didn't want her to have a GA, but eventually it grew to the size of an egg. In the end the vet was worried that the skin might tear so an op was the only option. Sadly she died from pancreatitis before she could have it removed. Just to reassure you the lump was nothing to do with her death.

Will be thinking of you both on Tuesday  :luv:
