When to Spay?
« on: June 09, 2011, 04:23:23 PM »
I intend to spay my girls at the appropriate time...our vet spays after the first seson which is fine,,
Topaz came in season (blood showing) middle of April, and seemed to have a very mild indifferent and short season, however the vet said to take her in 3 months after her season...am I right in assuming they count the 3 months from the END of the season making (around first week in May) therfore she will be due to be spayed 1/2nd week in August??

I would have thought it'd be the same as it is for us women and class it from day 1 of starting your period. If you're unsure about anything call the vets and find out for definate.

There is an excellent write up called Bitches Season http://www.cockersonline.co.uk/discuss/index.php?topic=44072.0.  It is excellent reading.
Lots of love ... Lizzie
