First Season - what to Expect?
« on: March 08, 2004, 12:35:06 PM »
All,
Cinder is approaching 7 months old and I am told that I should expect her first season at around 9 months?

Please could someone point me to an idiots guide on what to look for / how to look after her /working out when her season is / how long it lasts etc etc as we have no ideas

Thanks
Ben

All bitches are different Ben - some have their first season as early as 6 months, some as late as 18 months (or even later than this!). Your best bet would be to get yourself a copy of The Book Of The Bitch by Evans & White - it covers all aspects of a bitch's health including seasons. No bitch owner should be without a copy :)

Ruby's (blue roan) had her 1st season when she was about 13 months old, and the run up to it seemed endless as her behaviour began to change! Thank goodness I don't have to worry anymore about it as she was spayed after that.
