Title: Adobe CS4, help needed for my son please
Post by: SkyeSue on March 07, 2010, 08:33:03 PM
Not sure if this is in the right place Mods, perhaps it should be in shopping, so please move if necessary.
My son wants to get his hands on Adobe CS4 (the basic one would do) but it costs a grand unless you are a student then you can get a student copy for a couple of hundred. He presently has CS1, and needs to upgrade the illustrator and photoshop components to CS4, in order that he can send files to companies in the required format (well, at least I think that's what he's saying!!!) I saw a boxed new copy on e-bay for £400 ish, but he reckons this would have been registered already, and it's not possible to register it twice   :dunno:
Any ideas?

Are you sure he deffo needs CS4? What are the file formats he needs to send?

I'd be quite sure a "new" boxed copy for £400 on Ebay would already be registered...it's that old adage, if it's too good to be true, it prolly is!

Depending on file format he needs - you might be able to go with an earlier version?

Is he able to upgrade the version he has?
If you google Abobe cs4, upgrade versions, torrents etc come up on the search

The upgrades were about £360

Don't you know of anybody that could order it for you? http://www.software4students.co.uk/Adobe_CS4_Student-software.aspx

Software4students is an excellent site and very cheap.

He is right that it has probably already been registered, and I believe that you can register two people per bought CS4. I agree with others on here that it would be his best option to upgrade rather than buy!

good luck! xx

Thanks everyone, I have copied and pasted the thread and sent to him. I know NOTHING about these things, so I know he will appreciate comments from folk who know what they're talking about  ;)
