Help - my account has gone awol

Hi

I've just switched user from my daughters account and got a suprise 'new' account    I've logged off - rebooted and switched off but with the same result?  I've lost all my emails on outlook and my favourites on the internet?  Basically I'm treated as a new user ........................... all 'my documents' have disappeared as well?

Can anyone help??

  Tiscali is my work one - I'm at home now and I'm with NTL!  I think I need to back track and restore to a normal moment to get rid of the gremlins?

How do I get my account back (with all my emails and documents intact)?

Have you looked at 'User accounts' under the 'Control panel' to see if your account is still there?  (Assuming you are using Windows Explorer that is).

Hi, yes the user account is still there and I'm still the administrator ....................... all my settings and documents have gone though?   All my pictures, files and emails are lurking somewhere ................. just don't know how to get them back!!!???

Edited to add that I have just managed to restore to yesterday.  My account is now back but everything is soooo slow?  I use AVG free addition and Zone Alarm.  Are they good enough?
