16GB or 32GB ipad?

I am looking at an Ipad for my husband, it's our first wedding anniversary next week, and I am a bit stuck on what size to get.

He would use it for the same things he uses the laptop for, email, ebay etc, and then probably a few apps, maybe the camera. Would he be ok with the 16GB version, or would he need the 32GB? He doesn't do any downloading. Just wondering if it is worth the extra money for the 32GB?

Depends how much he is going to store on it, ie photos and music?

Mine is 16mb and more than enough but I only have a small music library and a selection of favorite pics, a few books and show schedules

It's a shame they are not expandable with a memory card slot so that you can expand later.

I would of said I didn't need it but I've only had this 4 months and it's amazing, I'm on it daily and constantly downloading things, mainly apps. I'd play it safe and get the 32gb

I have a 16gb and find it more than big enough! I use it for everything your husband does, have loads of apps on it, my husband has loads of other apps on it, and I also have 1200 ebooks on it! We have also taken lots and lots of photos, and I'm a phd student so store millions of PDF files too.

Only get the 32gb if he will genuinely need the extra memory!

Edited to add: just checked memory and that has only taken up 7gb!

16 GB is fine as long as you do not want to load and store a lot of films and music, 1 GB will give you about 280 songs or 1 HD film. hope this helps

How do you check how much memory you have used? Mine is 64 GB I don't know whether I could possibly use it all..

I've not got my Ipad to hand, but I think it's settings --> general --> 'about' and it will show how much memory used and how much memory is available
