My cocker has a very dry nose
« on: August 15, 2018, 11:02:13 AM »
Hi - my cocker appears to have a very dry nose and I was wondering whether this is normal.

She is a great dog, quite grumpy at times and very stubborn  (but well behaved)

Let me know your thoughts..................

Hi and welcome! Love  the picture, it does look as if she likes poking her hose into awkward places!!  :005:
My cocker‘s nose is very often warm and dry, its something that used to concern me but it just seems normal now, especially if he‘s indoors or its very warm. If she‘s healthy, eating and behaving normally, I wouldn‘t worry as long as its not so dry that the skin is cracking or looks sore. Stubborness in cockers is perfectly normal!!  :lol2:

Thanks for your reply,

She is stubborn, grumpy an incredibly disciplined (but if she could read, she would change her behaviour).

The dog is a guts and a great pet.

Hi. We haven't suffered from this but I know people who use organic coconut oil and say it works. There is also a product called Snout which came recommended. I believe Amazon sell it.

Our dog leo quite often has a dry nose...and then sometimes he has a very wet nose. There's no real correlation with why it changes but i have put it down to nornal for him as it never seem to cause him an issue or worry
