How to put weight ON!
« on: August 03, 2004, 11:17:04 PM »
My Poppy was 1 year old in May 2004, but she is soo tiny!  She weighs 9kgs and is just so petite, but only looks half the size of my other dogs.

Any suggestions on how we can build her up a bit??  We feed a complete food, which she eats every day no problem, she's up to date with injections and worming..........maybe she's just meant to be a smaller version  :?

Thanks

If she's petite then she's probably just that. Ruby is 10 kg as an adult but I have seen smaller ones than her but they were in proportion. If your vet thinks your dog's healthy then I wouldn't worry, not all cockers fit the average.

Hi Sharon, my Emma was always very petite and she only weighed 9 kilo,s at around a year old but ate well and didn,t look skinny. She is now 4 years old and weighs 12 kilo,s and i have started feeding her a light diet complete as she is getting a bit tubby :) She does however still look petite. She will fill out as she matures, happens to us all  !
