Dogs and booze
« on: July 21, 2009, 08:24:20 PM »
How does alcohol effect dogs?
Lucy will drink anything that you leave lying around and I just forgot that my glass of wine was in the front room. She saw her chance and supped the lot (probably about 200ml). I am so stupid sometimes, I can't believe I forgot to pick it up before I left the room  ::) Will she be ok?

Not sure but grapes are not good for dogs so I would ring your vet just to check  ;)

Hope she is OK and not too tipsy!  ::)

I'm sure she'll be ok.. pretty sure at least one of my dogs has done this before. Trev got hold of a reasonable amount of bubbly one Christmas too. She might need a kebab in about half an hour though ph34r

Think beer is better for them, if they do have a habit though. :D ;)

how is she?  I don't think she'll suffer from that too much - but you may want to check with your vet.  I think it's more the pips/skins in grapes that are more toxic but as with anything it affects different dogs in different ways so if she's acting strangely at all give them a call.

She could also start getting a bit emotional, telling you she really really loves you and have a stinking headache in the morning.....  ph34r and for goodness sake go NOWHERE near the kebab shop....and definitely keep the car keys away from her...

agree, beer is a better bet  ;)

I phoned the vet and they said just keep an eye on her.
She seems pretty perky at the moment, maybe a bit edgy  :005: I hope she doesn't start a fight poor Eric gets enough hassle off her as it is
