Title: I'm persona no grata with Ollie
Post by: Jaysmumagain on July 21, 2022, 10:47:11 AM
Well my boy is giving me the cold shoulder - just when I am in need of some cocker cuddles he wont come near me.  Why - well almost 3 weeks past omicrom I have the most dreadful cough and although somewhat deaf my boy runs away when I start to cough....he can usually be found hiding under hubby desk in the office.

As some of you know he has urinary incontinence due to his meds so I have had to resort to him wearing his pads during the morning to early afternoon, even with the back door wide open he is having had several accidents, bless him his Mum is in the wars and he is not a happy boy.

Still his best buddy is home tomorrow after 2 nights away.

As for me on more antibiotics and sadly staying off the wine for yet another weekend :012:

Oh Julie, poor you and poor ol‘ Ollie!!
They do get worried when all is not right with us.
I had a bad attack of Lumbago while in a hotel on Monday, OH had to call out the emergency doctor to help get me off the floor but had to move Humph first who‘d snuggled up beside and didn‘t want to move, bless him :luv: He could’nt understand what was going on.

Hope you’re feeling better soon, I‘ve heard from a few people that Omicrom seems to hang on a bit.
Take care of yourself, hope Ollie’s back to normal once his hero returns!!  :005:
Xx :luv: :luv:

Oh poor you, the cough is pretty awful, shame Ollie is confused and annoyed, just when you need extra cuddles!

Oh no, sorry to hear that! Poor Ollie and poor you. Just focus on resting and recovering and the scary cough will clear up and all will be forgiven.

I've got the new strain of covid at the moment too, and there's been nothing mild about it! It's been almost 2 weeks, but finally starting to turn a corner (the fatigue is something else though!)

My girl also hates the cough - either jumps on me or runs away. The cat has taken to lying right on my chest at night. Could be him being sweet or more likely, could be him trying to not so subtly tell me to 'shut up'.

A big bottle of bubbly is just round the corner, hang in there!

thanks folks

Wow Jayne poor you, it must have been scary.

Well Ollie did spend the night with me so cough is maybe improving.  Bless him I think he has aches and pains with his age and he struggled with the heat.  He seems brighter now and has been lying looking towards the gate as his bestie is home later.  Bit of cupboard love me thinks as hubby brings him a sausage from his hotel breakfast, and Ollie does a wonderful little dance anticipation.

As for omicron B whatever....mine has been to say the least not mild....hubby works away several days and he picked it up....plus a word of warning - he tested negative for 2 days and we assumed it was hay fever as pollen high.  Goodness knows what them next door think with my cough. Hers me thinking I had got away with it these last 2 years >:(
I am now on a second round of antibiotics - bless my GP so kind over the phone as I had a coughing fit.
Sophie glad to her you on the mend.

Mine is a bottle of red when the darn pills are finished.  Stay safe....

Oh you poor folks, lets hope you and pooches are all feeling better soon.

sophie.ivy  Not sure I would allow the cat to sleep so close, you need all the air you can get right now and the fur could be irritating the breathing tubes during the night - just a kindly thought well meant  :-*

A couple of  :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug: for our poorly people.

(Just a little  p.s. - I bought tickets to see Tom Jones live in concert this week, was looking forward to a little expat girlie night out! Decided in the end it wouldn’t be such a good idea having to sit that long so cried off.  Next morning the papers gave him a glowing review because „despite a severe attack of sciatica on the morning of the concert, the 82 year refused to call off and after an injection and painkillers , did the whole concert sitting down and gave a wonderful performance „
I turned 70 this year,  :005: that’s put me in my place!   :005: :005:)

Have a good weekend folks, hope you feel better soon Julie!  :luv:

Hi,

Hope you’re all starting to feel better. It took me 6 weeks to get back to normal, the last 3 was awful fatigue but friends didn’t have that and we all caught it at the same event.
Julie, hope the cough is clearing and Ollie is back to cuddles.
Jayne, ouch! Hope you are feeling ok and thanks for the Tom Jones giggle  :005:

Thanks John

It's been the cough with me - just finished last ick antibiotic, still a bit of a cough - just hoping it clears.

Ollie is back to loving Mum, TBH i think his old bones ache a bit so he curls up next to me.  His cuddles are certainly few and far between.
