I have mentioned before that Ruby has an overbite which means her lower canines are causing an indentation on the roof of her mouth.
I took her to see the vet yesterday who will be talking to a dental vet for advice ie potential cost, timetable for any future treatment etc. He is going to call me and let me know how we should proceed from here.
I have contacted our pet insurance company who have whittered on about pre existing conditions. The vet has faxed the case notes up to the insurers and we are currently awaiting a response..
The vet has said that this is a developmental problem. The condition wasn't picked by anyone until I brought it to the attention of the vet 4 weeks after we got her. In the meantime, she had been vet checked twice before, once by the breeders vet and once by mine when we joined their practice.
I have a sneaky susupicion that the insurance company are going to try and wriggle out of paying for the treatment needed.
I would be interested in anyone else's experience with insurers.
Thanks in advance.
