I gave Dylan his first treatment of the summer a week ago, Imused Advantix spot treatment where you part the hair on the shoulders and dab it on. Since then he has been very itchy on the body. We have a long hallway, and he rubs the side of his body along the wall, he is making my pale wallpaper quite grubby. I remember he did this last year too. Anyone else had this reaction? He doesn't scratch himself.
I have one vial of Advantix left, I am thinking of trying something else. We aren't troubled with fleas here (touch wood), but ticks are a problem, and it did stop them last year.

Hi Lesley,
Sounds like a bit of an allergic reaction if it’s irritating his skin. I always used Advocate on my two until a few years ago it actually burnt Ollie on his neck and the hair has never grown back :'(
I have just used Billy no Mates since, together with Tick Off and touch wood they haven’t had fleas or ticks.

Thanks Pam. I looked at the Billy no mates, it says to start at Easter six weeks before the tick season, so I am a bit late for that. He's got the protection from the Advantix for the rest of the month, I wonder if it would be OK if I started the BNM now, it wouldn't overdose him d’you think?

No it’ll be fine, as it’s a completely natural product. I also give them a little spray of the Tick Off by Vita Canis before heading off for walks just to be doubly safe!

Billy no Mates is a herbal remedy it will not double up on any of the drugs/chemicals in the Advantix.
I would suggest it is safe to use alongside the Advantix and get a slight head start before your protection from the Advantix wears off.

BNM coming tomorrow! Thanks a lot :D

I used Advantix on my dog and she developed Pancreatis

Yikes, that's awful. A direct result of Advantix?
