Copying Music from PC to PSP

I am going to scream.  I have been trying this for days without success.  In theory it should be the same as transferring to a MP3 player or my phone which I can easily do.

I have tried everything, made sure that all the files are Mp3 and not WMP.

Anyone able to help me I have lost the will to live
