MS Outlook. Help! I cant access my autoarchived messages.
« on: January 14, 2008, 09:15:43 PM »
 Over the past two years, ever since I set this PC up, I clicked on 'yes' every time I got a prompt to autoarchive my emails, but never really looked where they were going. I assumed they would be accessible from my Archive icon. However, now I want to look at them and they're not in the Archive folder. It says there are 0 messages there.
The last time I noted that they were going to: C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\archive.pst

Now when I get to the archive.pst file I cannot open it. I get a warning message saying that I could damage my system if I edit or modify them as they are used by my operating system. Then I have to choose a program to open it with if I still want to go ahead  ::) . I have tried the recommended programme (Word) but it says it is experiencing an error
 ::) ::) with a load of suggestions that I don't understand  :embarassed: >:( .

Has anyone else had this problem and any ideas how I can access them or get them pinto my archive folders where they belong please? :blink:
