ipod help

OH bought me the a new ipod for xmas but it only seems to be playing certain songs.  It's the ipod touch 8gb with speakers included. 

I've turned it off and back on again and it will play, but when you skip to the next song, nothing.

Anyone any ideas how to fix it?

Tis ok, I just fixed it!!

Just sync'd it again and it's working fine.
