Is there a way... IE Favorites question?
« on: April 24, 2009, 11:49:13 AM »
Is there a way to make a list of links from your favorites.
I know when I was at uni doing a bibliography I had to open each fave and copy and paste the address bar but surely there is an easier way?
I've saved all of my holiday information (hotel websites etc) into favorites but under my password proteceted login which I don't want to give to my Dad but i'd like him to have the faves so he will know where we are or I be able to call him for information i've not taken.
Failing a list can I make my faves available to other users on this computer?
(It's not that it's a privacy issue I just really don't want him messing anything about in my login)

Thanks

You should have a Favourites folder in My Computer.   Mine is in the following route:

Desktop
    Pat
        .......
        .......
        Contacts
        Desktop
        Documents
        Downloads
        Favourites
        etc

The links are separate files in the folder and can be copied and pasted as normal.   If you copy the relevant ones to a memory stick your Father can then copy them into his favourites folder using the same route.

Hope this helps.

Pat

Thing is, if i'm following you, it that it shows them as the names rather than the website addresses. I could rename them but even then if it's a text document he won't be able just to click and open will he?

Maybe it's not something you can do to just extract a list of web addresses from it

If you click on the file name it should open up in Internet Explorer.

I've just tested mine by attaching the Col Forum address to an email and sending it to myself (I have two email addresses) and it opened up ok as an attachment in Internet explorer.  It shouldn't take too long to attach the files that you want to pass on.
