What laptop?
« on: October 06, 2012, 09:01:02 PM »
Hi guys
I recently dropped my laptop (thanks for the help pups!) and the guys at work have tried three different hard drives in it, but all no good! :'(
so, it looks like I need to replace the comp.
but I am confused!, all I need it for is emails, and surfing, and keeping a few pictures, (although I know these can go into external storage.)  and occasional word/excel stuff
I cant really afford that much and would like one for under £250 if I can
any suggestions?, I dont have a fast broadband, but don't know if I should be looking at higher processor, hard drive or memory?
cheers!

I would rather go for a laptop if I were you. For me a tablet is something to get as an add on to a comp not a replacement but that's just me. I get annoyed with a tablet cos there is no usb hub or CD Rom. If you just want it for emails and web browsing then an entry level laptop should be fine for you. Should be quite cheap too if that's all you need it for. I've recently had a Dell, Gigabyte and an HP. The HP has outperformed the other brands hands down.

I bought a Fujitsu Lifebook AH530 and its fantastic- around the £250 mark from Dabs. Its a lot of machine for the money. I love it.

My daughter recently bought a notebook, great little machine, but she does miss having a cd drive, she's had to copy all installation files onto a usb memory stick, to install things like her camera, microsoft office etc onto it.
