I've been trying to resurrect our old lappie (but having a few probs  ::)).

One of the things I had to do was down load XP updates, which was fine except for the XP SP2, which won't down load to my old lappie.

Can I use my new lappie to down load it - on to a memory pen and down load it to the old lappie from the pen?

Hi

Use this link and download - ignore the bit about "If you're updating just one computer, please visit Windows Update" as this will only try to auto-install as well. Beware it is a large download ~ 260MB so go away and have several coffee's. Once downloaded you will be able to copy to a cd, or a usb pen and copy to the laptop. Also I would download to your new laptop harddrive, then copy to usb pen, it will be quicker.

This is quite an old thread  ;) so I'll lock it for now. We do try to only keep current threads active it makes the board much easier to use.
