Don't know what I am doing wrong.
Every time I start Firefox to go online, it also opens (next to my e-mail provider which is my "home" page) some 16 or 17 "Firefox Start" pages simultaneously, producing some 17 extra tabs. After surfing around for a while I sometimes end up closing some 97 tabs or so (according to that stupid warning you get)
Can anyone tell me why this is happening? This has been going on for some weeks now

Not sure if this is it
But in your preferences - then main tab
Under Startup it says
When Firefox Starts:
1. Show my home page
2. Show a blank page
3. Show my windows and tabs from last time
Now mine is set to - Show my home page
Yours isn't set to - show my windows and tabs from last time ??
Thats the only thing I can think of

is it always the same tabs or is it the tabs that were open last time
if you go to tools and options check that it says when firefox starts show my home page

Thanks, guys...
It is already set to "show my home page". Still happens. It always opens the same German Firefox Start Page(s) - 16 tabs at once. (Don't know why it's the German one. I am in the States but am German, but how can it possibly know that ?! )

Have you tried uninstalling Firefox and installing it again with a fresh download? I had to do this last week as Firefox was behaving v oddly for me but a fresh install solved it.
