Morning!
Jayne, that’s amazing progress, 4 months isn’t a long time to get Humphrey running and doing 3k, it’s incredible! I watched the Christmas videos in the snow and I don’t think I realised how big an operation it was and how much aftercare is necessary. I can’t imagine trying to control pace of recovery being easy as they are such a lively breed. You’ve done a marvellous job, I’m so pleased it’s been so successful. He’s a beautiful pup who adores you.
Thanks to you both for saying about your scissor accidents, I felt awful too, super guilty but the truth is it’s very, very easy to do even being very careful. Peanut had 3 staples, I cut across the top skin layer creating a circular 10p sized nick that wouldn’t heal on it’s own. Neither of us realised until I’d cleaned the scissors and sat down with a coffee. I thought I was being Uber careful.
I’ve found a retired groomer who is very gentle and may not do the best styles but will do the necessary trim without restraints. She is going to show me how to do the basics and get confidence back.
Have a lovely Sunday.
John.
