First Bone
« on: September 17, 2012, 01:38:26 PM »
I have posted a photo of Teal with her first bone in the photo / puppies section, to be honest i was really scared as I thought with her baby teeth she would just chew the meat of the pork rib. Oh boy was I wrong she soon crunched it up untill there was a small bit left which looked to have sharp edges.
I was worried about her swallowing the last bit so took off her.

Teal has a very healthy appertite in all honesty she is a greedy little madam but she really enjoyed the rib, trouble is  I was panicking and watching her like a hawk untill she had gone 24 hours with normal poo's.

Am I the only one that thinks the worry is not worth it ?.

I hope I can get my head around it Steph as she really enjoyed the rib, its all the years (many years in my case) that you are told bones are dangerous for dogs.

I gave Cassie her first bone last week (age 12 weeks). I got a lovely marrow bone from the butcher and just took out the marrow (frozen and will be used as treats) and gave it to her. I could see she really enjoyed it. I have always given my dogs raw bones.
