18 month working cocker bitch refuses to go on a walk
« on: June 10, 2020, 08:26:55 PM »
Hello all,
I am new to this forum so bear with me and thanks for reading.
I have a beautiful working cocker spaniel who I have had since a pup. Encountered a number of problems since I have had her and employed 3 behaviourists over the last year to help her. I have hit a wall again. My dog does not want to go out on the lead at all. She will only go out in the car. As you can imagine this gets very stressful. I think she fears the lead and has probably had a bad experience with me but I cannot recall. She also pulls alot. One piece of advice was to purchase a harness, which has helped but she has regressed a little and doesn't like it. I fear also, she just doesn't like lead walking.
I don't work her but would like to take her to agility but struggle getting her out. She also is ball obsessed and chases Shadows.
I am based in the north west. I would appreciate any guidance or recommendations for a behaviourist who specialises in Cockers. Thank you.

I don't have any advice for you, but following this thread because our 18 week old puppy refuses to walk with her dog walker and this has now spilled over to refusing to walk with us - until we are near somewhere she wants to be when she will start pulling like crazy! So I'm interested to see what the advice is.
