I don't think I would feed kippers. They are smoked aren't they.

I give Gunnar the skin when Ive had them for myself but I would be wary about giving him the flesh because of the fine bones

I've given my two the skin and left overs after I have eaten kippers, and not experienced any side effects.

Wherry has had small ammounts of kipper and had no issues (She does have a cast iron tummy) Though suprisingly she isn't too fussed on them, fish isn't her thing really.

i give him some and he loved it but then he will eat anything, will see how his tummy reacts to it when he does his next poo and if all is fine then he can have them once a week as a treat

I feed my two whole herring (they cost 50p each on the fish counter at the supermarket  ;)), but I'd be a bit worried about salt added to kippers  ;)

Hi

All my Boys have raw mackerel and sardines with no side effects and absolutely love them to bits.  Douglas will dance around the kitchen when he knows the fish is out and when I've got some defrosting over night he will sit in the kitchen guarding it  ;)

I wont feed kippers, or any smoked fish myself because of the high salt content. Fern does have the skin from my smoked mackerel filllets about once a month but nothing more.
