When do you stop the puppy food?
« on: October 16, 2007, 07:46:36 PM »
Hi guys,

What is the correct age to put your doggys on adult food, Charlie is nearly 9 months old and still on puppy food not sure when to change this? When he does go on adult food im worried what to start him off on because he is very fussy at the minute he is on Betta puppy dried food and puppy tinned butchers food.

I'd say about now, as his growth will have slowed down.

What do you want to feed him on ideally?

Funnily enough GP, I was about to post the same question! :005:

William was nine months old on Saturday and he seems to have stopped growing now (about 6-7 months I'd say).  He's on The Natural Dog Food Company's Chicken and Brown Rice All Round Puppy kibble and is doing very well on it.  It's 25% protein and I think nows the time to move on to the dog range.  I've got about 10kgs of the puppy kibble left and I'm planning on mixing with the dog stuff until its all finished.

The beta puppy that you are feeding is now called beta puppy/junior.I personally use this to about a year of age when i then move on to the adult.Remember to do it gradually over a week to avoid tummy upsets as this can happen even if you continue with the same brand adult.
