what is a sporn harness?  I got a harness for Dax but it didn't work out - it made him worse for pulling than ever - also bought the bungee lead but it is awful - we have gone back to a collar and lead  :005:

another sporn fan here. It works by pulling the dog upwards if they try and pull forwards so they get nowhere. Cant really explain it, but buy one and see for yourselves  ;)

The Sporn Anti Pull Harness is available at PAH amongst other places - I think I paid about a tenner.  It is fab - it has fleece covered straps that go under the front legs and the lead attaches on the back so the dog is controlled from below the shoulders rather than the neck which is why I think it has worked well for Coco  ;)  Much better than a head collar imo.

You can see it here:   http://www.companyofanimals.co.uk/non-pull-harness.php

How does it work? Looks like a normal harness going by the pics.

I have a sporn harness and it used to work really well, however she is at times starting to pull right through it.  It works because the straps that go round the legs tighten as she pulls...

Although they are really good, I would rather I had trained her to walk nicely on the lead.  I would advise anyone with a puppy to do this first! I am going to try in the summer to go back to collar and lead when I'm not at work and have time to walk and not worry if we don't move anywhere!

I had one for Murphy but found he pulled regardless. I guess it's another one of those individual dog things.

Yep - that's the stage I am at at the moment - takes me half an hour to get down the road and back and I've been going through this for 5 days now! I'm waiting for someone to call the police on me for loitering outside their house.

Sorry all - Despite Monty wearing a sporm harness ( hes 15 weeks) - He still pulls.

I have tried another standard harness from PAH and found the same results.  Like previous posts , I do feel that this may work for some and not others.

Good Luck
Monty is a pest - but we love him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad it seems to be working for you, long may it continue.  :D

We had mixed results with a Sporn, and in the end he pulled right through it - plus it matted the fur on his legs despite grooming before and after use.  :-\
