i have bought some andis clippers with a free no 10 blade . . .is this too short for clipping cockers?

It depends on the look you're going for ;) A #10 blade will leave the hair very short so isn't the best one to use over the body if you don't like the "shaved off sheep" look :005: It's fine for down the throat, inside ears etc but if you want the body coat longer, you'll need a #7F or a #5F.
