14 weeks old, how many meals a day?
« on: November 06, 2012, 10:43:15 PM »
Hi, we are due to bring Woody home on Sunday, we are re homing him after the breeder took him back after the new owners mum became very ill and she couldn't give the time needed for a new puppy.

Anyway, what I'm trying to establish is how much and how many meals per day should we be giving a 14 week old puppy, the breeder has given us details and advice but I would like to establish what other people do. We will be feeding him on James Wellbeloved puppy.

Thanks for any help given.

If Woody isn't already on James Wellbeloved don't switch foods as soon as you get him, but give him a week or so to settle in with you before you make any changes, then make them gradually. He's already had lots of changes in his short life so wait until he's used to his new home before changing anything. Young puppies can develop upset tummies simply through the stress of moving to a new home.

He looks adorable by the way :luv:

Thanks for your reply Elaine, we wouldn't change him straight away. As you said we will keep him on his current food for a week and then over the second week gradually introduce the new food.
