I went on a run today
...involuntarily, but kcals burnt still count
Started as a lovely walk in an area where all dogs have to be on leash. Not a problem since Laurië is almost always on a leash after loosing most of her hearing and vision. Currently using an 8 meter cheap flexiline type to give her as much freedom as possible without the fuss of a long line. She was running ahead of me, waggy and happy and energetic. I was thinking she was very far from me all of a sudden, looked down and realized the line had snapped and I was just carrying a useless plastic box no longer attached to anything
What do you do when the waggy tail of your mostly deaf cocker disappears around a bend in the distance? You run! I had no chance of catching up to her as she is much faster than me. I started to worry about her meeting children on the road, she can go from happy to scared really quick if strangers approach her. But luckily she has always been rewarded for checking in with me on walks so she did stop and look around for me after a while. I managed to get close enough for her to be able to see my recall signal
I might invest in better equipment next time
