Title: Which one?
Post by: CrunchyMand on August 20, 2011, 09:27:08 AM
I am going to try Oscar on a new food. Currently he is on RC Cocker but we want to shift those pounds. I am thinking either Burns High Oats or Barking Heads Fat Dog Slim. Can anyone give me any preferences to which one?

RC do 'light' versions of some of their food - Alice is a spayed middle-aged lady but her weight is easily manageable on RC Medium Light - not sure if that helps you in any way or not!

Good Luck with finding the right solution for Oscar  :D

Some dogs stay slim on any Burns food. Before I switched to raw feeding it was the best kibble for William, who had various skin and tummy problems plus had put weight on when on Arden Grange Light  :o. But Burns suited him really well. He was slim and had good skin and no tummy troubles. I know that others on here have posted in the past that their dogs lost weight and got skinny on Burns, so it's worth considering.

If you have a look on their website and contact them they're usually helpful and will send you some samples of the different varieties so you can see if Oscar likes it.
