Aging dogs maybe
« on: December 04, 2012, 07:56:07 AM »
Hi, apologies if in wrong area couldn't decide where to post.
My two are 7 & 8 years old, is this regarded as old age in a Cocker? Should I start them on some form of joint vitamins, I had the Airedales on Sasha's Blend , what do you give your dogs? they are feed Burns Kibble, with raw chicken, turkey necks, and sardines plus veges, eggs, yogurt, interested in what is best these days.
Thanks in advance

Maybe you could consider using fish oil with omega 3,6,9 and consider raw bones where cartilage is present (ie chicken wings) as this can help maintain good mobility and ward off onset of arthritic conditions.

My eldest cocker is now 10 yrs old and still showing no signs of joint problems. I feed a raw diet with the extra's that you have with yours  and I also do omega 3,6,9 oil but this has been a supplement from being young, not specific to reaching old age.
