When I was feeding kibble, I used to measure out the daily food allowance & use that as treats/training rewards, rather than have actual meal times.

Personally, I would not feed Royal Canin.

I too , appreciate your input Mari!   My experience of several uk vets is less encouraging.   Had a dog with Epi, which was an eye opener on vets lack of knowledge in that aspect. 
However what I do realise is that to recommend a certain prescription food  will cover vets for insurance purposes. Not all people are as clued up or able to research the web as us.  If the vet gives them a safe option,  then the pet is safe.  Medical knowledge is specialised , and without that ,  pet owners can make fatal mistakes.
RIP Marti  the EPI springer age 12,  and beloved black cocker Bobby, 8 yrs old, too soon, from PLN.
Now owned by TInker, tiny hairy grey poodle/terrier rescue from Greece and Jack, local rescue,   scruffy ginger terrier mutt.
