Lamb bones

I asked my husband to get a bone from the butcher for Alfie to keep him occupied while I am out tonight, (though my OH will be in, but not so patient with him if he gets a bit boisterous). I forgot to tell him to ask for a knuckle bone and he has brought home leg of  lamb bones. Is it OK to give him one of them- they're quite thin?
