Gungy Eyes
« on: May 01, 2009, 07:23:53 PM »
Over the past two or three days Woofie has started getting very gungy eyes.  It is bit like grey muscousy stuff

There is no running discharge, no inflammation and causing him no problem at all.  I am just cleaning them with a bit of salt water.

Any ideas welcome please ?

Is it both eyes? Could he have got something in them or come into contact with an irritant of some kind? It could be some kind of mild allergic reaction, even a pollen allergy of some sort. Cooled tea (no milk :005:) is good for eye bathing, I usually do it 3 times per day if needed. If it's not bothering him or causing pain or discomfort I would do the usual - if it's not clearing up after 48 hours of bathing then give the vet a call just in case.

Thanks Nicola. It is in both eyes. There isn't a lot but it is quite thick (a big bogey like!)

Am off to make some tea and leave it to cool.
